Must Read: ABA Fellow Juliet Nyamao's new AfricLaw Article

Despite Kenya’s recent legislative strides, the country faces significant barriers to true gender equality attainment, particularly in the country’s economic and political arenas, according to ABA Fellow Juliet Nyamao in their new AfricLaw article, “The perpetual endeavour: Gender-mainstreaming and sustainable development in Kenya.”

Nyamao explores how gender equality often manifests as a lack of access for Kenyan women, who often do not have access to credit, land ownership, and adequate safety protections throughout the electoral and political process. Nyamao is a Human Rights Attorney admitted to the Kenyan Bar. She received her LLB from Moi University School of Law (Kenya) and LLM from Georgetown University Law Centre (USA). Juliet completed her fellowship in Leadership and Advocacy for Women in Africa at Georgetown University Law Center. She is currently a fellow at the American Bar Association-USA.
