No ‘One Size Fits All’ Solution for Intrepid International Jurists on the World Stage

On September 12, the Daily Maverick, a news and opinion media outlet, wrote a story about a conference in Arusha, Tanzania co-sponsored by ABA ROLI on the importance of judicial independence. Conference attendees included U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, South Africa’s Navi Pillay, one of the first judges on the Rwanda Tribunal in 1994, and other judges from Africa, the U.S .and Europe.
